Consultant Profile
Dr. Iulia Pittman has a Ph.D. in Linguistics/Second Language Acquisition and is a professor of German and Linguistics at Auburn University, USA. She is the editor and chapter author of the book Raising Children Bilingually in the United States, has published numerous articles on heritage language maintenance, and has been interviewed by newspapers and by podcasters on multilingualism and bilingual parenting. She is passionate about languages and is dedicated to supporting individuals and families in their journey to multilingualism. Her work as a multilingual family consultant is informed by her extensive academic knowledge, access to current research, and her own experience growing up bilingually and that of being the parent of three English-Hungarian bilingual children. Due to her diverse background and broad understanding of multilingualism, she is able to relate to many different life stories and create strong connections to people. As a result, she makes sure that available potential and opportunities are not wasted, so that she can be as instrumental as possible in people’s success and growth.
